Orlando Luis Ferreira, 41, passed away on Friday, June 4, 2021 in the Dominican Republic.

Born in the Dominican Republic, Orlando is the son of Susana Baptista Franco of Pawtucket and Luis Orlando Ferreira of New York. Orlando resided in Pawtucket for several years, previously residing in Puerto Rico and Central Falls, RI.

Orlando recently worked as an Auto Consultant at Grieco Honda. Prior to that he worked for Men's Wearhouse for more than 10 years as a salesman, Assistant Manager and Store Manager. It was well known that "Orlando could sell sand to the desert, water to the ocean", that is how good he was! His customer service always went above and beyond no matter what field he was in because Orlando genuinely cared about his customers. His smile and charisma could light up a room, and his laugh was contagious!

In his years at Central Falls High School, Orlando created some very impressive drawings. His older son, Orlando Ferreira, now shows the same passion and talent for art and is continuing his father's legacy through his own drawings. Orlando also received his brown belt in Taekwondo during high school and continued his love of martial arts throughout his life. His nephew, Alexander Ferreira, now holds a brown belt and is planning to continue his journey in honor of his uncle.

Orlando loved to dance!!! His favorites were Merengue, Bachata, Salsa, West African drumming, and everything else in between! If you gave him a beat his hips would start swinging automatically. He was so good that he and his sister, Elisa Ferreira, won 1st place at a Salsa Competition in 2008. It was only fitting that Orlando became one of her first tribe members of Be Motivity (formerly Bodies In Motion) supporting his sister's dream that she founded in 2016. Her studio became his happy place where he could go 110 percent! It was there that he became known as "Superman" because there was no room that could contain his energy, spirit, and light.

Orlando was charitable and kind. He would regularly make monthly donations to his mother, Susana Franco, so she could send boxes of goods from the US to the less fortunate in the Dominican Republic. He loved his family and friends and always made the effort to stay connected. Getting a random visit or phone call from him would be sure to make your day even if you did have to hold the phone away from your ears. He always had something positive to share and his joy of life was infectious and loud!

No family was more important to him than his two sons, Orlando and Hyzael Ferreira. Orlando loved his boys and was continually active with them. They would watch Jake Paul fights all night long, yelling and whooping along the way. He would get on his bicycle to ride the bike paths of Lincoln Woods and Slater Park with them. Every Friday night he would take his sons and pick up his nephew, Oscar Guzman, to go play basketball with them for hours. When the weather was not cooperating, he would take them somewhere else indoors because to him, spending quality time with his boys was more important than anything else.

Orlando was a child at heart. His sense of wonder and joy never left him throughout the trials of life. However, it was his girlfriend, Anny Merari Lopez that brought him peace. Together they travelled, tried new trends like Tiktok and she even taught him how to cook! His last moments were filled with love, good food, good music and dancing and for that we will forever be grateful.

One of Orlando's goals was to purchase a house by the age of 40 and through dedication, hard work and family he did. Next to mastering his Greca Coffee Maker it was one of his proudest moments. Everyone in our community has been impacted by Orlando in such a positive way. He will forever be memorialized in our hearts and memories as a great man, friend, uncle, brother, father, and son. So next time you have a cup of coffee, do it the Orlando way. With more sugar than coffee and scalding hot!

Along with his parents, he is survived by his two sons Orlando E Ferreira and Hyzael Ferreira of Pawtucket. His siblings: Elisa Guzman of Pawtucket, Joab Ferreira of Cranston, Raziel Ferreira of Pawtucket, Carolina Ferreira, and Lucas Ferreira both of New York. His nieces and nephews: Jynessa L Ferreira, Aryanna L Ferreira, Alexander J Ferreira, Alyvia M Perogino, Oliver J Ferreira, Oscar E Guzman, and Jaxon R Ferreira.

Orlando's Life Celebration will be held on Monday, June 21st, 2021, beginning with visiting hours from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM at J.J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road Cumberland, RI. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 PM in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 1 Fatima Drive Cumberland. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland.
