Cumberland, Claire M. Geddes, 83, formerly of Valley Stream Drive, passed away Friday in the Mt. St. Rita Health Center, Cumberland. Born in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late George H. Geddes Sr., and Agnes (Butler) Geddes. She was a lifelong resident of Cumberland. Miss Geddes was the Administrative Technologist and Laboratory Director at the Memorial Hospital of RI, Pawtucket for 43 years, retiring in 1989. She attended the College of Our Lady of the Elms in Chicopee, MA, receiving her B.S. degree in 1946. She received her M.A. degree from Central Michigan University in 1976. She was a communicant of the Historic St. Joseph Church, Cumberland and a member of several Medical Technology Societies. She was a founding member and Chairman of the Board of the RI Schools of Medical Technology, which oversaw programs of five hospitals and four colleges. She was a member of the St. Joseph's Women's Club, the Cumberland Chapter of the AARP, the Elms College Alumni Association and the Central Michigan University Alumni Association. She was the sister of the late Alice Draper; Mary, Grace and Helen Geddes; Agnes Teal; Anna Affleck; Ruth McLoughlin; George and Joseph Geddes. Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 10 AM from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in the Historic St. Joseph Church, Mendon Road, Cumberland. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Cumberland.
