William F. Stephens 69, passed away peacefully at Miriam Hospital, Providence, with his loving family by his side on Tuesday, January 28, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Debra (Desjean) Stephens, with whom he shared 48 wonderful years of marriage.

Born in Camp Pendleton, CA, he was the son of the late Edward and Rachel (Bienvenue) Stephens. Bill (Ted) resided in Cumberland for the past 46 years, previously residing in North Attleboro.

Bill (Ted) had a deep love for the ocean, finding joy in sailing its open waters. He had a knack for tinkering with cars, always eager to fix or improve something with his skilled hands. One of his greatest pleasures was watching his grandchildren excel in their sports, cheering them on with pride. Above all, he cherished every moment spent with his family, creating memories that will be treasured forever.

He was a machinist employed by PentAir Co., also known as NVent of Warwick for 10 years until his retirement in 2022. He previously was employed by Cumberland Engineering for 22 years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two sons: Matthew Stephens and his wife Kerry, Joshua Stephens and his wife Christine all of Cumberland, in addition to his stepson Christopher Smith (Jen) of Smithfield. His three sisters: Ronna Dugdale and her husband Raymond of Uxbridge, MA., Diane Treen and her husband Carson of North Attleboro, MA., and Jaye Lynn Crawford and her husband Lewis of Hartsville, SC. His six grandchildren: Madelyn, Brayden, Alta, Juliana, Carter and Brianna, all of whom he loved very much, his sister-in-law Lisa Stephens of Millville, MA., along with several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his fury companion Bella. He was the brother of the late Michael Stephens.

The family wishes to especially thank Dr. Fred Schiffman for the extraordinary dedication and care over the past 20 years, and the constant care from all the nurses and healthcare staff.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Bill's Life Celebration to begin with Visiting Hours on Saturday, February 1, 2025, from 9 AM to 11 AM. A Prayer Service at 11 AM, in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road Cumberland. Burial will be private.
