Wieslawa S. Lakota, 81, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Stanislaw Lakota.
Born in Cudzynowice, Poland, she was the daughter of the late Wladyslaw and Janina (Gregorczyk) Wrzesien. She came to the United States in 1988, settling in Central Falls.
She devoted her life to the people she loved most, finding her greatest joy in creating a warm and welcoming home. As a dedicated housewife, she poured her heart into caring for her family, tending to their needs with quiet strength, patience, and unwavering love. Her days were filled with the simple, meaningful acts that held her household together—meals prepared with care, traditions kept alive, and a comforting presence that made everyone feel safe and cherished. Her family was her world, and in their lives, her kindness and devotion will forever remain a guiding light.
She was employed by Elizabeth Webbing Co., for many years.
She is survived by her son: Piotr Lakota and his wife Anna and her daughter, Anna Garcia and her husband Miguel all of Rehoboth. Her five grandchildren: Paul Lakota, Alexandra Lakota, Gloria Garcia, Miguel Garcia Jr., and Kamilia Garcia. Her sister Zofia Kurczyna of Poland and her brother Waclaw Wrzesien also of Poland,along with many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Bronislaw Wrzesien.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Wieslawa's Life Celebration to begin with Visiting Hours on Sunday, January 18, 2026, from 4 PM to 6 PM and continuing on Monday, January 19, 2026, at 9 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road Cumberland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 19, 2026, at 10 AM in St. Joseph Church, High Street Central Falls. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland.
