CUMBERLAND

Vanessa A. (Laston) Beaudoin, 70, of Cumberland passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2023 at Hope Health, Philip Hulitar Center in Providence after a hard-fought five year battle with cancer.  She was the beloved wife of Denis E. Beaudoin and they had been married for the past 41 years.

Born in Central Falls, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Mildred (Zwolenski) Laston.  She was a life-long resident of Cumberland.

Mrs. Beaudoin was employed as a Student Administrator at Rhode Island School of Design for 33 years.

Vanessa enjoyed collecting and designing miniature doll houses and furniture.   She enjoyed traveling with her husband to various destinations, with the Caribbean as her favorite place to visit.   Those who adore her will forever cherish her smart, gentle, and compassionate personality, complemented by her wonderful sense of humor.

In addition to her husband, she leaves her sister, Veronica L. Brousseau of Cumberland; her brother Chester H. Laston and his wife Margaret of Burrillville; her nephew, Sean McVeigh and his wife Mary of Cumberland; and her great-nephew, Michael McVeigh and her great-niece, Catie McVeigh; as well as several other in-laws,  nieces, nephews and close friends.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Vanessa's Life Celebration to be held with a Visitation on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 from 9 AM to 10 AM at the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt, 122, Cumberland.  A Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Aidan Church, 1460 Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland.  Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Miriam Hospital, Oncology Research, 164 Summit Avenue, Fain Building, 3rd Floor, Providence, RI 02906.
