CUMBERLAND
Thomas "Tommy" Francis Kerr, of Cumberland, RI passed away peacefully in the early hours on October 29, 2023 at the age of 70.

Thomas was born on July 30, 1953 to the late Francis R. Kerr and the late Grace U. (Cantalupo) Kerr in Maplewood, NJ. The family moved to Rhode Island in 1958, and called Cumberland their home. Thomas graduated from Cumberland High School in 1972.

After graduating, Thomas made a career of his favorite hobby, being involved with essentially anything with an engine. He was a master small engine technician, and also automotive technician for Sears for over 40 years. Thomas had a robust and never-ending love for drag racing, especially in his 1957 Chevy Bel-Air at his home track, New England Dragway.

He will be greatly missed, and is survived by his wife Allison T. (Boyer) Kerr; his daughter Tammy Kerr-Gaudette and her husband, Jason; his step-daughter Katrina Alves and her husband, Tyson. He leaves behind his grandchildren: Julia, Wesley, and Acel. He also leaves behind many other family members, friends, and his pets Brutus, Smokey, and Diesel, who will sadly miss him.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Thomas's Life Celebration to be held with Visiting Hours on Friday, November 3, 2023 from 5 to 8 PM.  A prayer service will be held at 7:30 PM.  The family kindly requests friends who own classic cars and motorcycles drive them to the services, weather permitting.   In addition, per Thomas's request "Make it Loud!"
