Teresa Mary
Godbout
Jul 30, 1938 — Sep 3, 2024
Cumberland
Teresa M. (Quinn) Godbout, 86, formerly of Bellingham, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at the Miriam Hospital in Providence, surrounded by the love and warmth of her family. She was the cherished wife of the late Roger Romeo Godbout, with whom she shared a beautiful life filled with love and devotion.
Born in Providence, Teresa was the daughter of the late Martin and Mary (Mulvey) Quinn. Her life's journey took her to Bellingham, where she resided for over 52 years, creating a home filled with love and memories. Most recently, she resided in Cumberland, continuing to embrace life with grace and compassion.
Teresa's calling was to care for others, a mission she fulfilled as a Registered Nurse at Roger Williams Medical Center, Fogarty General Hospital, and Hospice St. Antoine. Her gentle hands and kind heart touched many lives, offering comfort and care to those in need.
A devout communicant of St. John Vianney Church, Teresa's faith was a guiding light in her life. Her greatest joy came from the precious moments she spent with her beloved husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Their laughter and love brought her immeasurable happiness and fulfillment, and she cherished each moment with them. She enjoyed yearly family vacations to Lake Winnipesaukee and Martha's Vineyard.
Teresa leaves behind a legacy of love in her children: Mary Godbout of Sarasota, FL; Paula Pelletier and her husband Dan of Westerly, RI; Charlene DiChristofero and her husband Scott of Cumberland, RI; Stephen Godbout and his wife Barri Lynn of Sterling, MA; and David Godbout and his wife Mia of Warwick, RI. She was the proud grandmother of ten: James, Teresa, Emily, David, Rob, Jackie, Benjamin, Jonathan, Cameron, and Marina, and the adoring great-grandmother of Kathryn and Claudia. Teresa will also be remembered fondly by several nieces and nephews, whose lives she touched deeply.
Teresa's life was a testament to the power of faith, service, and family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she loved.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Teresa's Life Celebration to be held with Visitation at St. John Vianney Church, Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland on Saturday, September 7, 2024 from 9 AM to 10 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM in the church. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to The Josh Thibodeau Helping Hearts Foundation, c/o Clinton Savings Bank, 200 Church Street, Clinton, MA 01510.
