Sylvester Harmon (62) of Cumberland, RI

Beloved son, husband, father, brother, uncle, cousins, and friends was called home by God on October 7, 2023.  Sly passed peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones.  He is survived by his wife Sandy Harmon, daughters Myraha Harmon-Arias and Victoria Harmon. Siblings Dennis Harmon, Mark Harmon, Elizabeth Gifford, Lora Harmon, Tony Harmon, and Michelle Harmon.  Countless nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.

"Sly" was born and raised in Woonsocket RI.  The son of Vennie B. Harmond, the 5th of 9 children.  He is preceded in death by his adored mother, father, brother Thomas Ellison and sister JoAnn Harmon-Allen.

Sly was a gentle, soft-spoken man who cherished his family.  A man of very few words but the best one liner's that filled the house with laughter.  A prankster that never seemed to run out of new ideas to prank and scare us.  A man of faith that was always willing to help anyone in need.

He found joy in the simple things in life, long car rides, cooking, singing, dancing, and listening to Gospel music.  His passion was detailing and fixing cars.

A man of strong faith which he held on to fiercely during his illness.  He will be greatly missed by all that were fortunate to know and love him.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at St. James Baptist Church, 340 South Main Street, Woonsocket, RI from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm (Funeral Repast directly following the Memorial Service)
