Obituary

Suzanne J. Martin (Gladu), 82, of Manville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at St. Antoine Residence in North Smithfield. She was the wife of the late Leonard Martin.

Born in Woonsocket, RI, she was the daughter of the late Alfred Gladu and Jeanette (Nault) Gladu. Suzanne resided in Manville for most of her life. She was a caring and dedicated secretary, working for organizations including the Lincoln Housing Authority and The Gordon Center in Providence.

Suzanne enjoyed the simple pleasures of life—gardening her flowers, trips to the casino, and most of all, spending quality time with her family, whom she treasured dearly.

She was predeceased by her son, Anthony Martin.

She is survived by her brother, Roger Gladu, and his wife, Lorraine; her brother-in-law, Fred Martin, and his wife, Paulette; as well as Theresa Poisson (Al Poisson), Rachel Garneau (David Garneau), Eric Garneau (Courtney Garneau), Nicholas Baldwin (Kayla Baldwin), Jennifer Garretson (Mike Garretson), and Kevin Garneau. Suzanne also leaves behind her beloved great-grandchildren: Bentley, Mason, Oliver, Madilyn, Grayson, and Alexandra.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Suzanne's Life Celebration to be held with Visiting Hours on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 with Visitation to be held from 8 to 9:30 AM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM at St. James Church, Manville.  Burial will be private.
