Suzanne J.
Chenot
Jul 9, 1954 — Jul 31, 2025
Woonsocket
Suzanne J. (Laflamme) Chenot, 71, of Cumberland, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at The Friendly Home in Woonsocket. She was the devoted wife of the late Russell Chenot.
Born in Milford, MA, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Beatrice (Departhy) Laflamme. A longtime resident of Cumberland for over 40 years, she most recently resided in Woonsocket.
Suzanne began her professional life as a paralegal in Pawtucket before dedicating herself fully to her most cherished role—caring for her family as a loving homemaker.
She was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Woonsocket and found great joy in spending time with her sister, indulging in trivia, shopping, and most of all, doting on her beloved grandchildren.
She is survived by her three sons: Jonathan Chenot and his wife, Tanya (Comeau), of Kingsland, GA; Adam Chenot of Clarksville, TN; and Michael Chenot and his wife, Staci (Smith), of Columbia, MO. She also leaves her dear sister, Bernadette Desmarais (Laflamme) of Lincoln; four cherished grandchildren: Chloe, Cameron, Georgiana, and Gabriela; along with several loving nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to Suzanne's Life Celebration, beginning with visitation on Thursday, August 7, 2025, from 4 to 7 PM at the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 8, 2025, at 11 AM at St. Joseph Church, Woonsocket, with a gathering at the funeral home at 10 AM prior to the Mass. Burial will follow at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, honoring Suzanne's memory and lifelong love for children.
