Obituary

WOONSOCKET

Stephen J. Macaulay, 71, of Woonsocket, passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at home.  He was the husband of Christine M. (Scorpio) Macaulay and they had been married for the past 48 years.

Born in Bolton England he was the son of the late James and Joan (Lowe) Macaulay.  He moved to this country at the age of four, settling in New Jersey, and later moving to Cumberland, and lastly residing in Woonsocket for the past 46 years.

Mr Macaulay was employed as Regional Sales Manager for the Anderson Merchandising Company of Plano, TX for over 20 years until his retirement.

Stephen was a talented musician and could play both the guitar and drums and had a complete recording studio to collect his works.  He also had a passion for woodworking, and he created many beautiful things using his lathe.  Our community may remember him walking in the Arnold Mills, 4th of July Parade, featuring his satirical take on current events.    In addition, he enjoyed working in the garden, riding his bike, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, he leaves his children, Matthew B. Macaulay and his wife Anna Rebecca Hamilton of Toronto, Canada and Ian G. Macaulay and his wife Christine of Haddon Township, New Jersey; his two siblings, David Macaulay of Vermont and Patricia Coppola of Texas; his four grandchildren, Adeline, Brielle, Thora and Mac; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Stephen's Life Celebration, March 15, 2025, at 11 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland.
