Samira (Assad) Doumato, 91, of Cumberland, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 13, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late Chamoun Doumato.
Born in Damascus, Syria, on February 28, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Iskander and Estir (Habil) Assad. Samira immigrated to the United States, where she built a beautiful life rooted in family, faith, and friendship.
She was a devoted member of St. Ephraim Church in Central Falls and found great joy in her faith community. Known for her warm heart and hospitality, Samira loved cooking traditional dishes, tending to her garden, and welcoming everyone with kindness and generosity.
For 23 years, she was employed by Hasbro, Inc., where she was known for her dedication and work ethic.
She is survived by her loving children: Mona D. Bilalyan and her husband Herman of Las Vegas, NV; Kamil Doumato of Pawtucket, RI; Samir Doumato and his wife Lamyaa of Pawtucket, RI; Doumatto Doumato and his wife Diana of Central Falls, RI; Monir Doumato and his wife Sara of Las Vegas, NV; and Miriam Doumato of Cumberland. She also leaves her cherished grandchildren Gregory, Lisa, Nicole, Simon, Anthony, and Daniel; and adored great-grandchildren Bella, Beau, and Mackenzie.
Samira is survived by her siblings: Assad Assad of Cranston, Loris Assad of Stockholm, Sweden, Khazma Assad and Najat Assad of North Providence, Sonia Arslan of Los Angeles, CA, and Fadia Kardous of Sacramento, CA. She was predeceased by her siblings Samuel Assad and Nadia Assad.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Samira's Life Celebration to be held with Visitation on Friday, October 17, 2025 a 10 AM in the St. Ephraim Syriac Orthodox Church, 215 Washington Street, Central Falls. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the St. Ephraim Syriac Orthodox Church, 215 Washington Street, Central Falls, RI 02863.
