Cumberland,

Russell (Monty) Montgomery of Cumberland passed away peacefully on July 19, 2022.

He was the son of the late Samuel and Barbara (Workman) Montgomery.

Russell was employed by Irwin Cable Construction in Houston Texas for many years before retiring due to illness.
He was raised in Lincoln, RI but moved to Florida as a young man with a dream. It was there that he realized his love of the beach and any lazy seaside town. He often watched the sunset at Galilee it was one of his favorite local spots as well as Cape Cod and Plymouth, MA. He loved vacationing and taking cruises. He loved and looked forward to Saturday night card night. His childhood friendships remained strong throughout his life, some of them spanning 60 years.

He leaves behind his companion and best friend Donna Pinto, his wrestling buddy Troy Pinto, his card crew, Nicolas Pinto and Jason Quinn, his life long friend, William Rattenni, as well as special friends Robin Craveiro Kirchhoff, Mary Mencarini, Billy Denis, Charlie Lumb, Robert Lamarche, Kathleen Smith, Michael DeFalco and George Paradise. We were his family and he was loved!

The family would like to thank Hope Hospice for all their kindness and support especially Lauren, Nicole, Ana and Jeffrey. Special thanks to all the professional women who went above and beyond to care for him daily, Emma, Yatti, Jeanne (Blondie), Felicia, Hannah and Cass your thoughtfulness did not go unnoticed.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Monty's Life Celebration to begin with Visiting Hours on Friday, July 22, 2022, from 9 AM to 11 AM. A Prayer Service will be held at 11 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road Cumberland, RI 02864.
