Ronald L.
Soucy
Sep 17, 1942 — Dec 4, 2025
Cumberland
CUMBERLAND
Ronald "Ron" L. Soucy, 83, of Cumberland, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket. He was the beloved husband of the late Diane L. (Delisle) Soucy.
Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Lucien W. and Doris (Hamel) Soucy. Ron had resided in Cumberland for the past 26 years and was a longtime former resident of North Smithfield, where he lived for 28 years.
Following high school, Mr. Soucy proudly entered the United States Air Force, serving his country honorably and with great pride.
Ron worked as a tool maker for Texas Instruments and later for Engineered Material Solutions, dedicating many years to his craft before his retirement. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life—most especially being outdoors and caring for his yard. He will be remembered for his quiet nature, loving spirit, and unwavering devotion to his family.
A classic car enthusiast, Ron was especially proud of his 1955 Chevy Bel Air. He found great joy taking it to local car shows, sharing conversations, stories, and his love of vintage automobiles with others. He also enjoyed listening to Doo-Wop music, fishing, and spending cherished time with his family.
He leaves his son, Jon R. Soucy of Cumberland, and his daughter, Amy L. Anshewitz and her husband, Jason, of North Attleboro. He also leaves his sisters, Sandra J. Lachapelle and her husband, Robert, of West Greenwich, and Linda N. Hosbond of Iowa, along with several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Ronald's Life Celebration to be held with Visitation on Thursday, December 11, 2025, from 5 to 8 PM and continue on Friday, December 12, 2025, at 9 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM in the St. James Church, Manville. Burial with military honors will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland.
