Ronald E. Hoak, 86, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at home. He was the beloved husband of Carol A. (Howland) Hoak. They have been married for the past 22 years.

Born in Conestoga, PA, he was the son of the late Elmer I and Grace Louise (Schnerr) Hoak. Ron resided in Cumberland for the past 24 years.

He was a US Marine veteran, honorably and faithfully served his country. He participated annually in the US Marines birthday dinner and loved gathering with his fellow Marines.

He was a member of the Providence Rotary Club, Providence.

Ron was an avid reader and golfer. He enjoyed sharing his love of history with others. Ron also enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing with his family.

He owned and operated Financial Concepts Group, Providence for many years until his retirement in 2017.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his much loved four children: Steven R. Hoak (Holly) of Angier, NC., Craig A. Hoak (Cheryl) of Bedford, NH., Kimberly L. Barsamian (David) of Cranston, and Todd M. Hoak (Carolina) of Cleveland, OH. Two stepsons: David R. Howland of Cumberland, and Daniel R. Howland of Foxboro, MA. His eight grandchildren: Callie Hoak, Kyle Hoak, Kelsey Hoak, Collin Hoak, Ashley Singleton (Patrick), Marc Barsamian (Katie), Isabelle Hoak, and Tristan Hoak. Four step-grandchildren: Drew Howland, Dina Howland, Lindsay Howland, and Charlotte Howland along with two great-grandchildren: Eleaha Singleton, and Grace Barsamian. He was also the grandfather of the late Melanie Barsamian.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Ron's Life Celebration to be held on Monday, March 20, 2023, with Visiting Hours from 4 PM to 7 PM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road Cumberland. Burial with Military Honors will be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at 10:30 AM in RI Veterans Cemetery, South County Trail, Exeter.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, The Cooper Center, 18251 Quantico Gateway Drive, Triangle, VA 22172, or to the RI Golf Association, Burke Fund, 1 Buttonhole Drive #2, Providence, RI 02909.
