Robert N. Tanguay, 76, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2024 surrounded by his family in the Miriam Hospital, Providence.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Lucien and Leah (Fafard) Tanguay. Bob was a lifelong resident of Cumberland.
Bob's passion for motorcycles and classic cars defined his life. He also found joy in tinkering in the garage during his leisure hours. Evenings were dedicated to shared meals at different eateries with his son Jim, forming a cherished routine. However, Bob's deepest happiness came from the precious moments spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was a heavy equipment operator for many local business' through Local 57 for more than 40 years until his retirement.
He is survived by his children: James E. Tanguay of Cumberland, and Robin Tanguay of Greenville. His sister Therese Brousseau of Cumberland. His four grandchildren: Jaxon, Alex, Nick, and Amy, five great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews. He was the grandfather of the late Kenneth Iaciofano Jr.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Bob's Life Celebration to begin with Visiting Hours on Thursday, March 14, 2024, from 10 AM to 12 PM followed by a Prayer Service at 12 PM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road Cumberland. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to the American Diabetes Association, Rhode Island Chapter, 146 Clifford Street Providence, RI 02903.
