The Hanley family sadly announces the passing of their dear brother Robert (Bob) at age 72. Bob was born on March 30, 1952, in Beech Grove, Indiana, the first son of William (Bill) R. Hanley and Mary E. (Kubler) Hanley. Both parents, Bill and Mary, preceded him in death.

Bob followed in his father's footsteps in the sign business, starting at a young age. He worked alongside his father at Bill Hanley Signs during his formative years in Indianapolis. Bob's love of sign work took him to Federal Sign, also in Indianapolis, then to Tyson Signs in South Carolina, where he continued to learn every aspect of operating a sign business. His lifelong career took him to Rhode Island, where he worked for Mandeville Sign Company. Bob held the position of Director of Engineering while there. He genuinely loved the last company's owners and all the people that worked there. He worked the last 20+ years of his career at Mandeville, retiring in 2018.

Bob had a passion for many things, including Corvettes, all fast cars, friends, and family. He made friends easily and held them all very closely. Bob's even temper made him a great director, a great friend, and a great brother.

Bob is survived by his younger brother David Hanley and wife Jeri (Alles) of Illinois, sister Elizabeth (Beth) and her husband Jeff Page of Indianapolis, and youngest sister Janalee (Jan) and husband Randall Reeves of Albuquerque, NM. He is also lovingly remembered as a devoted stepfather to Greg Snow (North Kingstown, RI) and Terri Snow Markwart (McLean, VA). Bob treated Greg and Terri as his own children, providing them with the love and care that defined his generous spirit. Bob leaves many dear friends and extended family members.

There will be no public services at this time. Bob will be buried in Indianapolis, Indiana following his cremation.
