CUMBERLAND

Richard Thomas Walsh, 83, of Cumberland, passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at St. Antoine Residence, North Smithfield.

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Thomas and Clarinda (Chaput) Walsh.  He was a resident of St. Antoine Home for the past eight years, previously residing in Cumberland for most of his life.

He was a communicant of the former St. Patrick Church.   Richard was a dedicated and passionate Boston Red Sox fan, he enjoyed playing cards and time spent with family and friends.

He leaves his sisters, Lois Schillinger and Lucille Walsh, both of Cumberland; his nephew, David Schillinger of Florida; his niece, Jill Murphy of Wakefield; his nephew, Thomas Schillinger of Cumberland.

The family would like to thank the staff of St. Antoine Residence for the care provided to Richard during his time there.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Richard's Life Celebration to be held with Visiting Hours on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 from 9 AM to 10:30 AM in J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Cumberland.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM in Historic St. Joseph Church, Mendon Road, Cumberland.  Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
