CUMBERLAND

Richard O. Ruel Sr., 82, of Cumberland passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at Hope Health in Providence.   He was the husband of Anne M. (George) Ruel and they had been happily married for the past 59 years.

Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Arthur T.  and Antoinette (Woznek) Ruel.   He was a life-long resident of Cumberland.

Mr. Ruel was employed as a factory worker for Carroll Cable Company for many years until his retirement.

Richard enjoyed fishing and bowling.  He was a former member of the Cumberland Beagle Club.

In addition to his wife, he leaves his son Richard O. Ruel Jr. of Cumberland.   He was the father of the late Robert L. Ruel and brother of the late Arthur Ruel and Theresa George.

His funeral and burial will be private.
