CUMBERLAND

Richard E. Riendeau, 70, of Cumberland, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at home, surrounded by the love of his family. He was the beloved husband of Brigid Jean (Flaherty) Riendeau, with whom he shared 46 years of marriage.

Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Eugene M. and Marilyn A. (Boyd) Riendeau. He resided in Cumberland for 41 years, having previously lived in Billerica, Massachusetts.

Mr. Riendeau was employed as a technician for Aspen Aerogels for many years until his retirement.

Richard was a passionate New England sports fan who also enjoyed playing golf. His love of sports extended beyond watching—he played on an ice hockey team in his younger years. He was a devoted father and a cherished "Do-Do" to his grandchildren, who were truly his world.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two daughters, Nicole Jenkins of the Florida Keys and Lauren Riendeau of Block Island; his siblings, Robert Riendeau of Sweden and Susan Desmond of Manchester, New Hampshire; his cherished grandchildren, Emily Jenkins, Robert Hirsch Jr., Alana Riendeau, Devin Hirsch, and Daphne Hirsch; and his sons-in-law, Robert Hirsch Sr. of North Attleboro and Eric Jenkins of Arkansas. He is also survived by his niece, Becky; his nephews, Christopher, Kevin, Jeffrey, Jacob, Marc, and Eric; and his great-nephews, Cole, Kyle, and Casper. He was the father of the late Joseph D. Riendeau.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Richard's Life Celebration, with visiting hours to be held on Friday, May 8, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the J.J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt.122, Cumberland.
