CUMBERLAND

Richard "Rick" P. Girard, 71 , of Cumberland passed away on Friday, March 17, 2023 at Hope Health in Providence. He was the husband of the late Karen S. Schofield. He was the companion of Jane Roy.

Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Maurice P. and Grace (Bourque) Girard. He resided in Cumberland for most of his life, previously residing in Blackstone.

Mr. Girard was a United States Air Force Veteran, serving during the Vietnam Era.

He was employed as a Heavy Equiptment Operator for JH Lynch Inc. for many years. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Operating Engineers, Local 57.

Rick, as he affectionately known, enjoyed fishing, camping and hot rods and car shows in his free time.

He leaves his brother Douglas Gould of Vermont; his sister Frances Carline of Cumberland; as well as many nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be private.
