Obituary

LINCOLN

Richard J. Mollo, age 82, of Lincoln, formerly of East Providence, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2025 at home.   He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, a devoted father and grandfather, a lifelong engineer, and a beloved companion and friend.

Born in Providence, Rhode Island, Richard was the son of the late John Mollo and Adeline (Rufo) Mollo. He spent the last 14 years of his life in Lincoln and had previously resided in East Providence.

Richard earned his bachelor's degree and dedicated over 30 years to the electronics industry as a Chemical Engineer. Throughout his career, he held positions at notable companies including Philip Hunt Chemicals, Olin Chemicals, Arch Chemicals, and Fuji Chemicals.

During the Vietnam Era, Richard honorably served in the United States Army. His military service was distinguished by several commendations, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, as well as the prestigious Bronze Star Medal.

Richard was a man of many interests and passions. He enjoyed fishing, golf, and was especially fond of tennis. Whether on the court or relaxing with a fishing rod in hand, Richard found joy in the simple pleasures of life.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Deborah Pierce and her husband, Jeff, of Attleboro, MA; and his cherished grandchildren, Alexandra and Zachary Pierce, also of Attleboro. Richard also leaves behind his brother, John Mollo of Florida; his sister, Barbara Tarczuk of Warwick; and one niece and one nephew; as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews, all who will remember him with great affection.  For over 20 years, Richard shared his life and his home with his devoted companion, Virginia Barrett. Their bond was a true testament to love, partnership, and unwavering companionship.
