PAWTUCKET

Raymond P. Sullivan, 78, of North Providence, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025 at Lincolnwood Rehabilitation in North Providence.  He was the beloved husband of Patricia Sullivan for the past 46 years.

Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Geneva Maxwell Meaney.   He resided in North Providence for the past 20 years, previously residing in Pawtucket.

Following his graduation from Pawtucket Vocational High School, Raymond entered the United States Marine Corps, serving our country during the Vietnam era and was honorably discharged.

Mr. Sullivan was a Truck Driver for Seekonk Oil and Drew Oil of Cranston for many years.

Ray or Sully, as he was affectionately known, enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing softball, and spending time outdoors.  He also was part of the pit crew for Len Ellis racing at Seekonk Speedway. He was a life member and past president of Wampanoag Rod and Gun Club in Seekonk.  Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.  He was a dedicated New England sports fan.

In addition to his wife, he leaves his two children, Erin Sullivan of North Providence and William F. Sullivan and his fiance Melissa Bouvier of Cumberland; his siblings, Michael Sullivan and his wife Joan of Pawtucket, Thomas Wroe Jr. of Naples, FL, and Lynda A. Meaney of North Providence;  as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.  He was the uncle of the late Katherine B. Alexander.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Raymond's Life Celebration to be held with Visiting Hours on Friday, January 24, 2025 from 5 to 8 PM and continue on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 9:30 AM  in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM in the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, North Providence.  Burial with Military Honors will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland.
