Rachel F. Mooney, 80, passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2024 in the Holiday Retirement Home, Manville. She was the beloved wife of James W. Mooney Sr,. They were married  for the past 60 years.

Born in Franklin, MA., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Eva (Hebert) Desper. Rachel resided in Pawtucket for more than 40 years, previously residing in Blackstone, MA.

She was a member of the South Attleboro Village Lions Club, Attleboro. She was an avid Elvis fan and collected Elvis memorabilia.

Alongside her husband she is survived by her four sons: James W. Mooney Jr., Peter T. Mooney, Paul R. Mooney and his wife Kristen, and Matthew T. Mooney all of Pawtucket. Her eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews. Rachel was also one of nineteen children.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Rachel's Life Celebration to begin with Visiting Hours on Thursday, January 11, 2024, from 4 PM to 7 PM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road Cumberland. A Prayer Service will be held on Friday, January 12, 2024 at 10:30 AM in the funeral home. Burial will follow in RI Veterans Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter, RI.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to South Attleboro Village Lions Club, Attleboro, or Bethany Village Fellowship Church, 516 Newport Avenue South Attleboro, MA 02703.
