Philip H Botelho

Philip H Botelho passed on August 21st, 2023, four days shy of his 75th birthday, August 25th,1948. He was married to Eileen (Perron) Botelho for 52 years. Philip also leaves behind his son Philip R Botelho and his long-time love Donna M Robidoux, as well as his three beloved granddaughters Courtney 29, Camdyn 19 and Nicole 16. Other surviving family members are Joseph (and Patricia) Botelho, Richard (and Sharon) Botelho and William (and Deborah) Botelho. Philip's parents Herman and Rachel Botelho along with his older brother Robert (widow
Claire) and younger brother Louis have all gone before him.

A graduate of Pawtucket West high school in 1967 Philip proudly enlisted in the United States Marine Corp in his senior year to serve his country. He next graduated from basic training at Parris Island in South Carolina as a Combat Explosives Engineer. Philip spent the next 18
months in Vietnam. At just 19 years old he was awarded the distinguished Bronze Star for brave and heroic actions above and beyond his sworn call of duty. Philip returned from overseas and fulfilled the remainder of his contract as a guard at Camp Pendelton In California. This is also where he began his lifelong love of woodworking, construction and landscaping. His skills were passed along to and sincerely
appreciated by his son.

Philip and Eileen purchased their home in Cumberland in 1976. Through the years they were able to transform this tiny 3 room cottage into a beautiful 2 bedroom home with beautiful oak hardwoods covering their spacious living room all over a three car garage. This was all made
possible through Philip's vision, skill and assistance from his immediate family. In 2003 Philip and Eileen moved to a home they purchased in Sarasota, Florida where they enjoyed a lack of snowy winters. Phil was known for his lengthy conversations and his quiet smile. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He will be missed dearly by all who were lucky enough to have known him.

Visitation will be held Saturday from 8 AM to 10:30 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home.  He will be laid to rest with military honors at RI Veteran Cemetery following the visitation.
