CUMBERLAND

Peter Paul Pianka Jr., 80, formerly of Cumberland, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at Lakeside Nursing and Rehabilitation in North Kingstown. He was the husband of Irene E. (Beaudoin) Pianka, and they were happily married for the past 57 years.

Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Peter P. Pianka Sr. and the late Rose M. (Molak) Pianka.  He resided in North Kingstown for the past three years, previously residing in Cumberland.

Peter was a car enthusiast, and was always in a garage working on something.  He enjoyed working on cars, attending his son's car races at Seekonk Speedway, as well as spending time with his family.

In addition to his beloved wife he leaves his children, Craig Steven Pianka and his wife Jill of Smithfield, and Cris Pianka of Cumberland;  his sister Patricia Koziol of Cumberland, his five grandchildren; as well as a niece and two nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Peter's Life Celebration to be held with Visitation on Monday, July 6, 2026 at from 5 to 7 PM and continue on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at 10 AM in the J J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland.  A prayer service will be held at 11 AM.  Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland.
