Pauline D. (Dumas) Connor, 88, passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, in the Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. She was the wife of the late James D. Connor.
Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late William and Edna Dumas. She resided in Cumberland for most of her adult life.
Known as Mother Mary of Peace after taking her final vows in the Congregation of Jesus and Mary, Pauline's life was devoted to her faith and her family.
Rhode Island's 1975 Teacher of the Year, Pauline was an educator of elementary school children for over 40 years. She passed along her love and joy for teaching to so many of us who will always remember her as our favorite teacher.
She is survived by her son, James Connor of Warwick, sisters Lorraine Laperle and Beatrice Paul, and brother George Dumas of Woonsocket.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Pauline's Life Celebration to begin with Visiting Hours on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, from 4 -7 PM and continuing on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at 9 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road Cumberland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM in the St. Joan of Arc Church, 3102 Mendon Road Cumberland. Burial will follow in St. Jean the Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham, MA.
