Paul W.
"Fitzy" Fitzgerald
May 20, 1949 — Jul 13, 2024
Pawtucket
Paul W, "Fitzy" Fitzgerald, 75, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2024, in RI Hospital,
Providence, surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Jeanne L. (Brousseau) Fitzgerald.
They have been married for the past 50 years.
Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Willard P. and Mary M. (O'Connor) Fitzgerald.
Paul was a resident of Pawtucket for the past 20 years, previously residing in Cumberland for
26 years.
Paul was a member of the American Legion Post 14, Cumberland; and was an avid pool player,
running the Post's pool league. He enjoyed attending car shows with his friends, always
recognized with his green 1993 Corvette.
He worked for many years AT Cross, for A&H Duffy Polishing, and for MCM Technologies. Also
enjoying work as a bartender for decades at The Polish White Eagles, Stanley's, and the
American Legion Post 14, serving his customers and friends with a booming laugh and a grin
that went from ear to ear. Paul had a larger than life personality, great sense of humor, and will
be terribly missed by many. Above all else, Paul was dedicated to his family, placing the needs of those he loved above his
own. Always taking care of everyone else.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two daughters: Kelley A. Sullivan and her husband
Timothy of Burrillville and Jeanne M. Fitzgerald of Pawtucket and his granddaughter Haley M.
Smith of Burrillville, along with several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late
David Fitzgerald, Edward Fitzgerald, Linda Fitzgerald, and James Fitzgerald.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Paul's Life Celebration to begin with Visiting Hours on
Sunday, July 21, 2024, from 1 to 4 PM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road
