Padmini S. Thakur, 59, passed away on Monday, December 4, 2023, in RI Hospital, Providence. She was the wife of Bruce S. Thakur. They have been married for the past 38 years.

Born in Berbice, Guyana, she was the daughter of Puranbhan Hemraj of Providence, and the late Chandrowtie (Chunnilall) Hemraj. Nadi came to this country in 1987, settling in Hartford, CT., and then Providence and Lincoln, RI.

Nadi loved to shop, travel and go to the beach, but most of all, spending time with her loving family.

She was employed as an Senior Administrative Assistance for Amica Insurance, Lincoln for the past 35 years.

Alongside her husband and father, she is survived by her three children: Mak, Devina, and Kiran Thakur all of Lincoln. Her brother, Satesh Hemraj and his wife Ferial of Florida, and her sister, Gitanjali Baker and her husband John of Edmonton, Canada, one nephew and four nieces.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Nadi's Life Celebration to begin with Visiting Hours on Friday, December 8, 2023, from 5 PM to 9 PM and continuing on Saturday, December 9, 2023 with a service according to Hindu rights at 9 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road Cumberland. Cremation to follow in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence, RI.
