Normand P. Thibeault, 95, passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at his home in Cumberland, RI. He was the husband of the late Theresa "Terry" Magdeline (Menard) Thibeault.

Born in Central Falls, he was one of 6 sons of the late Joseph and Bertha (Fournier) Thibeault. Normand spent most of his life in Cumberland, where he raised his family and became a well-respected member of the community.

Normand's passion for electronics began at a young age, repairing radios in the family garage. Due to the increasing popularity of radios, he and his father worked together to repair them, and jointly they opened County Radio and Appliance at 393 Broadway in Pawtucket. Normand was a true innovator in the field, building the first television set in Rhode Island. They eventually sold the store, and Normand went on to work at Engelhard Industries for 22 years until his retirement.

In addition to his professional pursuits, Norm's hobbies and interests included repairing cars, sharing his love of television and movies, and listening to news radio or Red Sox games. He was a communicant of St. John Vianney Church, Cumberland.

Normand is survived by his five children: Norman M. Thibeault and wife Kathryn of Auburndale, MA; Bruce J. Thibeault and wife Rosario of Fort Lauderdale, FL; Richard P. Thibeault and wife Zoe of Rehoboth, MA; Janice M. Ferreira and husband Michael of Rehoboth, MA; Rosemary Haley and husband Kevin of East Freetown, MA. Normand is also survived by ten grandchildren: Meghan, Kristen, Elizabeth, Lauren, Derek, Caitlyn, Kevin, Eva, Steven, and Daniel, as well as nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late Henry, John, Eddie, Roger and Paul Thibeault.

A Life Celebration for Normand will begin with Visiting Hours from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road Cumberland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM in St. John Vianney Church, 3609 Diamond Hill Road Cumberland. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland.
