Obituary

Nancy Ann (Hamel) St. Laurent of Cumberland passed away peacefully at Stillwater Nursing Home in Greenville on Saturday, June 13, 2026.

She was the beloved wife of the late Eugene St. Laurent and the daughter of the late Laura (Labossiere) and Raymond Hamel. Born in Apponaug, she grew up in Woonsocket before getting married and raising a family in Cumberland. She was the
sister of the late Robert Hamel, Roland "Larry" Hamel, and Dorothy Giard.

Nancy is survived by her 4 children, Paul and his wife Anne, John and his wife Lurdes, David and his wife Danielle, Ann-Marie St. Laurent and her husband David Graham. She was the adoring grandmother of Liam, Kimberly, Jeffrey, Gregory, Francine, and Elliot and the great grandmother of Braden, Caden, and Wayne.

Nancy was a communicant of St Joan of Arc Church in Cumberland, also serving as a CCD teacher and Eucharistic Minister for over 40 years. She was a kind soul who was always willing to help anyone. She was an avid sewist who loved making outfits for her
grandchildren and over 200 bags as part of "The Sewing Project to Help Foster Kids" for the RI Department of Children, Youth and Families.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Nancy's Life Celebration. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2026, from 8:30 to 9:30 A.M. at the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road (Route 122), Cumberland. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 A.M. at St. Joan of Arc Church, 3357 Mendon Road, Cumberland, with burial in Resurrection Cemetery in Cumberland.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Nancy's name may be made to Catholic Charities of Rhode Island.
