Muriel L.
Squires
Mar 8, 1933 — Mar 18, 2023
Cumberland
CUMBERLAND
Muriel L. Squires, known to many as the charming bartender from the High Seas Lounge, in Haines City, FL. has passed away at the age of 90. Although she may have left us, her memory will live on through the countless lives she touched and the cherished memories she created.
Muriel, a Cumberland native, spent over 35 years basking in the Florida sun in Haines City before returning to her roots in 2021. Her passion for food was evident as she relished going out to eat and cooking up a storm in her kitchen. She even took a gamble every now and then, enjoying the occasional trip to Twin River Casino.
As a bartender at the High Seas Lounge, Muriel's charm and wit were unmatched, leaving an indelible impression on everyone who walked through the door. Her sparkling personality was the life of the party, and she knew how to make everyone feel welcome and at ease.
She is survived by her beloved daughter, Joyce A. Sateikis and her husband Ray of Cumberland; three grandchildren, Brenton Beverly Jr., Bryan Beverly and his wife Nicole and Shannan Beverly and her fiance Andrew Babikian, all of Cumberland; three great-grandchildren, Cole Russo, Caroline Russo and Ava Beverly; and several nieces and nephews. Muriel was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Squires, and her companion Terry Anderson, as well as her sisters Helen L'Heureux and Lucienne Gingras.
While her funeral and burial will be private, her memory will be honored through the online memorial at jjduffyfuneralhome.com.
