Meredith G.
Flemming
Jun 9, 1946 — Dec 22, 2024
Attleboro
ATTLEBORO, MA
Meredith G. (Glause) Flemming, 78, of Attleboro, MA, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2024, at Women and Infants Hospital in Providence, RI.
Born in Boston, MA to the late Arthur C. and Dorothy M. (MacCormack) Glause, Meredith grew up in the Esmond section of Smithfield before settling in Attleboro, where she resided for 48 years.
A 1964 graduate of Classical High School in Providence, Meredith earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1968 and two master's degrees from Rhode Island College.
She dedicated 35 years to public education as a high school teacher and home economics instructor for the City of East Providence, retiring in her late 50s.
In her retirement, Meredith pursued her love for fashion, working at Liz Claiborne in the Wrentham Outlets and later Coldwater Creek.
Meredith was a nature enthusiast who cherished walks along the beach, reading a good novel, loved animals, and delighted in travel. She also had a keen eye for style and enjoyed dressing up for any occasion. Most of all, she loved being a mother and grandmother.
Meredith was the beloved mother of Vincent R. Flemming III of Pawtucket, RI, and stepmother to Michelle Flemming of Brooklyn, NY, and Lisa Flemming-Robb of Yonkers, NY. She was the proud grandmother of Vincent "Jai" R. Flemming IV and Kingston T. Flemming, and step-grandmother to Shane McDonald and Karl Robb Jr. She is also survived by her dear sister, Dorothy M. Hodnett of Smithfield.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Meredeth's Life Celebration to be held with Visiting Hours on Sunday, December 29, 2024 from 1 to 4 PM and continue on Monday, December 30, 2024 at 10 AM in the J.
