CUMBERLAND

Melody B. (Mello) Bradford, 69, of Cumberland, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 24, 2026, at the Greenville Center Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward M. Bradford.

Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Louis E. and Rita (McCarthy) Mello. Melody made her home in Cumberland for many years, having previously lived in Pawtucket.

Mrs. Bradford was employed as an assembler with Texas Instruments for over 22 years until her retirement, where she was known for her dedication and strong work ethic.

Melody was a woman of vibrant personality and deep passions. She found great enjoyment in classic television, especially Lost in Space and Star Trek, and loved listening to the music of David Cassidy. She also expressed her creativity as the host of a public access television program, "Daphnes Madhouse."

Known for her strong will and spirited nature, Melody was equally remembered for her kindness, loyalty, and immense love for her family and animals. She had a generous heart, formed lasting friendships wherever she went, and found her greatest joy in the company of those she loved. Even the simple things, like her favorite chicken salad sandwiches, brought her comfort and happiness.

She is survived by her siblings, Kathleen Mello of Pawtucket, Candace Lisi and her husband Randall of Providence, and William Mello and his wife Melody of Eatonton, GA; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters Shirley Rounds, Beverly Bibby, Martha Melikian, and her twin sister, Melanie Mello. She is now reunited with her beloved husband and her loyal dog, Phoebe.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Melody's Life Celebration to be held with visitation on Friday, May 1, 2026, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held at 7:30 PM. Burial will be private.
