Maurice "Maury or Jake" Jaquay Jr. passed away on July 24, 2025, at the age of 63. A lifelong Cumberland resident, Maury is the son of Carol Jaquay and the late Maurice Frank Jaquay. Maury was a loving son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He was known for his devotion to his family and loved ones.
Besides his mother, Maury is survived by his daughter Stephanie Crowley and son-in-law Thomas Crowley; his grandchildren Leo and Frankie; his sister Hope Pena and brother-in-law Guillermo Pena; his nieces and nephews Elizabeth, Daniel, Karianne, Nicholas and Laura; and his great-nieces and nephews Abby, Arya, Gabe, Gabriel, Elliot, Murphy, Jake and Annie. He also leaves behind many beloved cousins and friends.
Maury proudly followed in his late father's footsteps by serving in the United States Navy. His service is something he held with great honor. After his time in the military, he continued his commitment to hard work as a devoted employee at Dupuis Oil.
A true New Englander, Maury was a passionate supporter of the region's sports teams, especially the New England Patriots.
Maury will be remembered for his big heart, immense strength, and unwavering dedication and love for those closest to him.
He was and will continue to be loved by many. He will be deeply missed.
A private funeral with Military Honors will take place on Friday August 1, 2025. The funeral will be followed by a Celebration of Life at the American Legion Post 14 Cumberland, where Maury is a longstanding member.
All friends and family are warmly invited to attend the Celebration of Life from 12:00pm - 4:00pm on Friday August 1, 2025 at the American Legion Post 14 Cumberland, located at 695 Broad St. Cumberland RI 02864.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of J. J. Duffy Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Operation Stand Down Rhode Island in Maury's honor.
