CUMBERLAND
Mary C. Lavallee, 95, of Cumberland, passed away on Monday, October 5, 2026. She was the beloved wife of the late A. Rolland Lavallee.

Born in Valley Falls, Cumberland, on July 29, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Richardo Vasques and
Guilhermina Pereira.

Mary remained deeply connected to the community that
shaped her, building a life centered on faith, family, friendship, and service to others.

For 19 years, Mary worked in the State of Rhode Island school lunch program, retiring in 2011. Her commitment to serving others extended far beyond her working years. She volunteered at the Cumberland
Senior Center for more than 25 years and was a longtime Eucharistic Minister at Notre Dame Church, a ministry she faithfully carried out for approximately 45 years. She also gave of her time as a Cub Scout Den
Mother with the Notre Dame Council.

Mary had a naturally sociable spirit and genuinely enjoyed being around people. She treasured time with family and friends, loved a good game of bingo, and was a familiar attendee at Twin River. Her warmth, outgoing nature, and ability to enjoy the company of others made her easy to know and easy to love.

She is survived by her children, Roland J. Lavallee and his wife Barbara Kane-Lavallee, Leo M. Lavallee and his wife Sue, Paul R. Lavallee and his wife Marjorie, David C. Lavallee, and Claudette A. Lavallee and her wife, Rosanne Rebello,
She also leaves seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews who adored her.
Mary was predeceased by her daughter, Marie Bouchard, and by her siblings, Bertha Camarillo, Emily Szpila, Lucinda Provost, Domingoes Vasques, and Michael Vasques.

Those who knew Mary will remember a woman whose life was measured not simply in years, but in the countless ways she showed up for others - through her faith, her volunteer work, her devotion to family, and the friendships she nurtured across a lifetime. Her generous spirit and joyful presence will remain a lasting part of the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Mary's Life Celebration to be held with Visitation on Friday October 9 2026, from 9:30 to 11 am, in the J. J.
