Cumberland,

Mary F. Fournier, 101, passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Conrad A. Fournier.

Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (McNulty) Walsh. She was a resident of Cumberland for the past 45  years, previously residing in Pawtucket.

Mary enjoyed dancing especially Jitterbug dancing, the only thing that she loved more than dancing and her family was the Boston Red Sox.

Mary's career and greatest accomplishment started as a teacher for Bryant College, educating returning World War II soldiers. She also formerly was a teacher for the Katherine Gibbs School and the Norton High School. Mary also was a paralegal for many years, working with various attorneys in the Providence area.

She is survived by her daughter Jeanne C.F. Ballou and her husband George of Cumberland. One granddaughter Erinn K.F.B. Raimondi of Cumberland, her great-granddaughter and favorite person Emily J. Raimondi of Cumberland. Her sister Gertrude W. McGinnis of Cumberland along with many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late, Joseph F. Walsh, and Edward F. Walsh.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Mary's Life Celebration to begin with Visiting Hours on Friday, October 13, 2023, from 4 PM to 7 PM and continuing on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at 9 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road Cumberland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM in the St. John Vianney Church, 3609 Diamond Hill Road Cumberland. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Hope Hospice & Palliative Care, 1085 North Main Street Providence, RI 02904, or the St. John Vianney Church, 3609 Diamond Hill Road Cumberland, RI 02864.
