Marta I. Gobin, 89, passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2024 surrounded by her family She was the wife of the late Leo D. Gobin Jr.
Born in Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late William Correa Sr. and Louisa Correa Santana.
Marta retired from A.T. Cross Company after working there for 20+ years. She was also a caregiver for many years before stopping at the age of 87. Marta was an avid reader and loved her morning crossword puzzle. Most of all Marta loved spending time with her family. Her favorite way to show her love was to make her Puerto Rican dishes like chicken, rice and beans, but especially her famous pastelillos. Marta loved traveling, one of her favorite places to visit was the Nubble Lighthouse in Maine.
She leaves behind her son Leo D. Gobin Ill of Littleton, NH and her daughter Maryann Kryla of West Warwick, RI. Her daughter-in-law, Sharon Gobin of Cumberland, RI in which she resided, Her brother William Correa of Brooklyn, NY.
Her grandchildren, Jason Gobin, Jessica Beland, Ethan and Taylor Kryla, Justin and Brittnie Kryla, Amanda Kryla and the late Leo D. Gobin IV. Her five great-grandchildren Breanah Gobin, Larkin Longo, Octavia Kryla, Colton and Carter Kryla. Along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Frank Carillo and Avon Correa Santana.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Marta's Mass of Christian Burial to be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at 11 AM in the St. Aidan-St. Patrick Parish, 1460 Diamond Hill Road Cumberland. Burial will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road Cumberland, RI. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, 28 West 44th Street, Suite 609, New York, NY 10036. Online memorial: jjduffyfuneralhome.com
