CENTRAL FALLS

Mariano Pinheiro, 84, of Central Falls, passed away on March 17, 2023 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, North Providence. He was the husband of the late Fernanda C. (Tavares) Pinheiro.

Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal, he was the son of the late Joseph and Virginia (de Oliveira) Pinheiro. He emigrated to this country in 1976, settling in Fox Point and later moving to Central Falls in 1980.

Mariano was employed by Bachman Snack Foods for over 12 years.

He was an active communicant of the St. Anthony Church, Pawtucket, where he volunteered often at many church functions. Mariano had a passion for vegetable gardening, as well as for growing grapes.

He leaves his son, Carlos M. Pinheiro of Central Falls; his daughter, Connie Pinheiro of Central Falls; his two grandchildren, Kayla Leon and Jonathan Pinheiro. He also leaves his sister, Connie Melo of Cumberland, as well as his nieces, Connie Delgado of Pawtucket and Kathy Charpentier of Florida, his nephew, Jimmy Melo of Lincoln.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Mariano's Life Celebration to be held with Visiting Hours on Thursday, March 23, 2023 from 8 AM to 9:30 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 AM in the St. Anthony Church, Lawn Avenue, Pawtucket. Burial will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence.
