Obituary

Maria E. Saraiva Ferreira 92 passed away peacefully at her home on August 19, 2026. She was the wife of the late Felismino D. Ferreira who passed away in 2020, they had been married 60 years.

Born in Vale da Ribeira Celerico da Beria, Portugal she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Rosa Saraiva.

She had a true gift for bringing people together, especially through her love of cooking. Her kitchen was a place filled with warmth, laughter, wonderful aromas, and memories that will stay with us forever. She never simply prepared a meal—she cooked with love. Sharing food was her way of showing people how much they meant to her.

She was deeply dedicated to her family and cherished her friendships. Her caring nature, generous spirit, and beautiful heart made everyone around her feel welcomed, loved, and cared for.

We will remember her through the meals she lovingly prepared, the laughter we shared, the lessons she taught us, and the countless memories she gave us.

Maria is survived by her daughter Maria O. Ferreira-Tavares and her husband Domingos Tavares, her daughter-in-law Maria Lurdes-Ferreira. She was the loving grandmother of Nicholas Tavares, Jonathan Ferreira and the great grandmother of Roman Ferreira. Maria was the mother of the late Antonio Ferreira.
