Maria B. (Dias) Ribeiro, 95, of Vero Beach, Florida, formerly of Pawtucket, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at the Vero Beach Care Center. She was the beloved wife of the late Antonio A. Ribeiro.
Born in Moimenta do Dão, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Julio Ribeiro Dias and Palmira Maria Jose. Maria came to the United States in August of 1976, settling in Pawtucket, where she made her home for most of her life. She later resided in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, for 11 years before moving to Vero Beach in March of 2021 to be closer to her family.
Maria was employed as a machine operator for Hasbro for 10 years before her retirement.
She was a former communicant of St. Anthony Church in Pawtucket.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Maria's greatest joy was the time she shared with her family. She enjoyed knitting, preparing wonderful meals for those she loved, and tending to her garden. Her warmth, kindness and devotion to her family will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
She leaves her two sons, Antonio Ribeiro and his wife, Terry, of Vero Beach, and Carlos Ribeiro and his wife, Anna, of Vero Beach; her sister, Lucila Loureiro of Hartford Connecticut; her four grandchildren, Michael Ribeiro and his wife Lauren, Richard Ribeiro and his wife Dali, Tyler Ribeiro and his wife Madison and Troy Ribeiro; and her six great-grandchildren, Luka, Jackson, Noah, Kora, Emma and Olivia. She also leaves several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Manuel Dias.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Maria's Life Celebration, beginning with Visiting Hours on Thursday, August 13, 2026, from 5 to 8 p.m., and continuing on Friday, August 14, 2026, at 9 a.m. in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Route 122, Cumberland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Fatima Drive, Cumberland. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland.
