CUMBERLAND

Maria C. (Sequeira) Oliveira, 81, of Cumberland, passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at Hope Health in Providence, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Manuel Oliveira. They would have celebrated their 60th anniversary on September 19th, 2023.

Born in Folgosinho, Portugal, she moved to this country in 1974, settling in Central Falls, later moving to Cumberland.

Mrs. Oliveira was employed as Machine Operator for Interpack Inc of Pawtucket for many years.

Maria was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church.  She enjoyed walking, tending to her garden and crocheting, but most of all loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she leaves her children, Angelina A. Medeiros and her husband Ricardo of Cumberland, Joaquim Oliveira and his wife Maria of Cumberland, Antonio Oliveira and his wife Emilia of Cumberland, and Joao Oliveira and his companion Sally Junkins of Attleboro, MA; her five grandchildren, Nelson Oliveira and his wife Briana, Melissa Oliveira and her companion Zack Walker, Nicholas Oliveira, Daniel Oliveira, and Nathan Medeiros; as well as several nieces and nephews.  She was the mother of the late Jose Oliveira and sister of the late Jose Sequeira.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Maria's Life Celebration to be held with Visiting Hours on Friday, September 8, 2023 from 5 to 8 PM and continue on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 9 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland.   A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 AM in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Cumberland.   Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Hope Alzheimer's Center, 25 Brayton Ave, Cranston, RI 02920 or to Hope Health Hospice, Philip Hulitar Center, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
