Maria A. Manteiga, 92, passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2023, in the Mount St. Rita Health Center, Cumberland. She was the wife of the late John Manteiga.

Born in Terceira, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Itelvina DaCosta. Maria came to this country in 1957 settling in Attleboro, MA and eventually Cumberland.

She enjoyed knitting and sewing but most of all spending her time with family, especially her grandchildren.

She was the beloved mother of Susan Glaude and her husband David of Lincoln, and Elaine Manteiga of Cumberland. Her sister Maria Durand of Burrillville, and her brother Arthur DaCosta of Cumberland. Her five grandchildren: Eric Glaude, Jessica Bliss, Holly Kelton, Sean Bertoncini, and John Bertoncini. Four great-grandchildren; Gabriella Bliss, Harrison Glaude, Isaac Kelton, and Theo Bertoncini, along with several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Maria's Life Celebration to begin with Visiting Hours on Sunday, November 19, 2023, from 4 PM to 7 PM and continuing on Monday, November 20, 2023, at 9:30 AM with a Prayer Service at 10 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road Cumberland. Burial will follow in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.
