NORTH PROVIDENCE

Maria L. Coelho, 88, of North Providence, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at the Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, North Providence. Maria was the beloved wife of the late Ramiro F. Coelho, with whom she shared over 60 years of marriage.

Born in Moradia, Penalva do Castelo, Portugal and moved to the United States with her husband in 1966. They settled in Pawtucket and later moved to Lincoln, where they lived for many years. For the last 35 years, Maria had been a resident of North Providence.

Mrs. Coelho was a devout Catholic and a communicant of St. Anthony Church in North Providence. Those who love her will remember her passion for cooking, crocheting, gardening, but most of all her dedication and love for her family.

Maria was a loving and devoted mother to her two children, Susana Coelho of North Providence and Jose Coelho and his wife Isabel of Seekonk, MA. She was also a proud grandmother to her granddaughter, Diana Labo of Kingston, MA, and great-grandmother to Bella Grace Labo and Mac Labo. She also leaves her siblings, Jack DaNave of Lincoln and Antonio DaNave and his wife Mary of Seekonk; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Celeste Ramos, Zulmira Batista, Emilia DaSilva, Manuel DaNave, Valentine DaNave, Amadeu DaNave and Armando DaNave.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Maria's Life Celebration to be held with Visiting Hours on Friday, March 17, 2023 from 5 to 8 PM continue on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 10 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM in the St. Anthony Church, North Providence. Burial will follow in the Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland.
