Cumberland
Margaret "Peg" A. (Sanna) Chadwick, 93, of Cumberland, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at the Friendly Home in Woonsocket, peacefully surrounded by the love of her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Elmer E. Chadwick.
Born in Cumberland on August 3, 1932, Peg was the cherished daughter of the late Joseph and Helen (Daniels) Sanna. A lifelong resident of Cumberland, she was deeply rooted in the community she loved and called home for all of her years.
Peg dedicated much of her life to caring for others through her work as a Team Leader at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of RI, where she worked faithfully for 17 years before retiring in 1991. Her quiet kindness, warm smile, and caring nature touched many lives throughout the years.
A woman of deep faith, Peg was a devoted parishioner of St. Joan of Arc Church and found great comfort and strength in her religion. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, especially spending time with her family, who meant everything to her.
Peg leaves behind her loving children: David J. Chadwick and his wife Tanya of Mashpee, Massachusetts; Michael Chadwick and his wife Kelly of Cumberland; Mary E. Cronin of Mashpee, Massachusetts; and Anne M. Schwirz and her husband Paul of Cumberland. She was the proud and loving grandmother of eight grandchildren and great-grandmother of nine great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to her life. She was also the sister of the late Joseph D. Sanna, John F. Sanna, and Gerald Sanna.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Peg's Life Celebration to be held with Visiting Hours on Monday, May 11, 2026 from 8 AM to 9:30 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM in St. Joan of Arc Parish, Mendon Road, Cumberland. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Hope Health, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
Peg will be remembered for her gentle spirit, unwavering love for her family, and the quiet grace with which she lived her life. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
