CUMBERLAND

Luis G. Ferreira, 67, of Cumberland passed away unexpectedly on August 14, 2024 at home.   He was the husband of Gloria (Guerra) Ferreira and they had been married for the past 42 years.

Born in Forninhos, Portugal, he was the son of the late Antonio and Rosa Guerra (da Fonseca) Ferreira.   He moved to this country in 1977, settling in Cumberland.

Mr. Ferreira was employed by American Insulated Wire, now Leviton Inc. for over 30 years until his retirement.

Luis was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church.  He was member of the Lusitania Club, and Casa do Benfica.   He enjoyed gardening, winemaking, fishing and hunting.   Those who love him will remember his hard work ethic, and his ability to fix almost anything.

In addition to his wife, he leaves his son, David S. Ferreira and his wife Petra of Cumberland; his two grandchildren, Dylan and Amelia Ferreira; his siblings, Antonio Ferreira and his wife Helena of Cumberland, Maria Da Luz Carvalho and her husband Jose of Cumberland and Jose Ferreira and his wife Agostinha of Lincoln; as well as three nieces.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Luis's Life Celebration to be held with Visiting Hours on Monday, August 19, 2024 from 5 to 7 PM and continue on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at 9 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Fatima Drive, Cumberland.  Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
