Lucien J. Durand Jr., 87, of Cumberland, RI, and Louisville, KY, passed away on Monday, Nov. 24, 2025, at Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket.

Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Lucien J. and Cecile (Blanchard) Durand. He resided in Cumberland, RI, for over 40 years and also lived for 20 years in Louisville, KY.

Following high school, he entered the Air National Guard, serving at the North Smithfield base for six years.

Mr. Durand owned the former Hardinks Flower Shop in the north end of Woonsocket. He also worked at several other area flower shops.

Lucien was an avid bass fisherman and a dedicated, passionate Boston sports fan. He loved attending his grandchildren's sporting events and watching them on stage during their arts performances.

He leaves his two sons, James "Jamie" Durand and his wife, Cheryl, of Cumberland, RI, and Jason Durand and his wife, Jennifer, of Louisville, KY; his three grandchildren, Adelae Durand of Cumberland, RI, Allison Durand of Louisville, KY, and Brayden Durand of Louisville, KY; his sister, Lorraine Parenteau of Woonsocket, RI; as well as several nieces.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Lucien's Life Celebration, to be held with visitation on Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the J.J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Route 122, Cumberland, RI. A prayer service will be held at noon. Burial will follow at St. Jean the Baptist Cemetery in Bellingham, Mass.
