Lionel P Carreiro, 69 of North Smithfield, formerly of Bristol RI, went on the ride of a lifetime to meet Jesus and his heavenly family on February 3rd. The devoted husband and soulmate of Janice Mowry Carreiro.

He was born November 1, 1955 to Lionel and Lydia (Bragantin) Carreiro.

His children and grandchildren who cherish him are Alexandra Carreiro (partner John), Lionel Carreiro Jr ( fiancé Taylor), Jesse, Donna, Brandon, Jack and Matthew Killeen. He is the one and only brother of Lydia & Tom Sheckels, Linda & John Baker, Paula & Peter Valerio and our angel Pamela.   He also leaves his Godmother Mary Barbour, his many nieces, nephews, cousins & longtime friends.  Lionel left the most loving and fun legacy.

From a young age, he was true to himself & his innate gifts, leading him to East Providence Tech to study mechanics. He was an artist, guitarist, avid motorcycle rider and classic/muscle car enthusiast. Starting out at Cabral's Market on Thompson Avenue in Bristol, he went on to be a master butcher until retirement.

He will always be remembered for his unique and incredible sense of humor, his love and care of animals & birds but mostly for the simple treasures of spending time at home with his precious wife and family.

Relatives and friends are invited to Lionel's Life Celebration to be held on Friday, February 7, 2025 from 10:30 to 11:30 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland.  A rosary service will be held at 10:00 AM for those who would like to join.  Burial and graveside services will be held at 12 NOON at St. James Cemetery, Manville.
