Obituary

Linda S. Bogdan, 75, of Cumberland, RI passed away surrounded by her family on 2/2/26 at Moun Saint Rita Nursing Home in Cumberland after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease.  Born in Pawtucket, RI, she was the daughter of the late Warren and Dorothy Baldwin, also of Cumberland.  She was the beloved wife of the late Russell Bogdan for 25 years.  She was a 1968 graduate of Cumberland High School and she held both a B.A. in Education from the University of Rhode Island and a Master's in Education from Rhode Island College.  Early in life, Linda devoted her time to raising her three sons which included staying heavily involved in parent-teacher organizations, and playing chauffeur for their numerous sporting events and other activities.  She eventually pursued her passion of becoming a school teacher where she dedicated over 20 years at many of the local elementary schools in Cumberland including Garvin Memorial, Ashton Elementary, St. Joans Elementary, and Cumberland Hill prior to retiring into 2010.

Linda had many interests in life including playing tennis, competing in board and card games, traveling, and seeing performances at PPAC. In addition, Linda cherished spending time with her family and friends, especially at the family cottage on Newfound Lake in New Hampshire, watching her children and grandchildren play sports, and supporting the Rhode Island Special Olympics with her son Michael.

She is survived by her three sons, Dennis Bogdan and his wife Susan of Swansea, MA, Shawn Bogdan and his wife Kerry of Lakeville, MA, and Michael Bogdan from Cumberland, as well as 4 grandchildren: Karina (18), Brayden (17), Matthew (17), and Ashlyn (14).  She also leaves behind her brother Dennis Baldwin and his wife Cynthia of Cumberland.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Friday February 13th at St. Josephs' Church in Cumberland, RI.  Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday February 12th at JJ Duffy Funeral Home in Cumberland, RI.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the American Parkinson Disease Association (https://www.apdaparkinson.org/).
