Krystine Arlene Canepa also know as Zachariah Hunter, affectionately known as "Zak," 36, of Manville, RI, passed away on June 25, 2026, at The Miriam Hospital in Providence.

Born in Derby, CT, she was the daughter of Richard Sperling and his wife Brooke Evans of Connecticut and the late Catherine (Hyman) Sperling.

Krystine worked as a CNA and in maintenance, where she brought strength, dedication, and care to the work she did.

She had a creative spirit and enjoyed drawing, hiking, fishing, and cooking. She also had a special fondness for Pooh Bear.

Those who loved Krystine will remember her as outspoken, funny, and never afraid to speak her mind. She had a way of cracking a joke when it was needed most and bringing laughter into the lives of those around her. Above all, Krystine loved her family and friends deeply, and the love she shared with them will remain a lasting part of her memory.

In addition to her father, Richard, she leaves her beloved son, Devin Samson of Seymour, CT; her siblings, Amber Sperling of Holyoke, MA, and Jacob Sperling of Indiana; her nieces and nephew, Yosiah A. Gonzalez-Sperling and Kayliana B. Gonzalez of Massachusetts, and Kloe Sperling of Indiana. Krystine also leaves behind her spouse, Joceline Darling, and Joceline's boys; her aunt and uncle, Jeanette and Walter Oliver of Seymour, CT; her cousin, Kristy Spencer-Hyman of Ansonia, CT; as well as many loving cousins, aunts, uncles, extended family members, and friends.

Her funeral will be private. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, Cumberland, RI.
